Backcountry

Geoffrey is headed out for his first big backpack trip.  He's going with the group that runs his snowboard club at school and is really excited.  He's got a number of friends going so it should be a really good adventure for them all.  They are calling it their "passage" trip into high school.  I have to admit that brings a bit of tears to my eyes.  It's a hard realization that I've only got him at home for another 4 years and then off to college and many adventures as an adult.  Whoa!  I'm so not ready for that, and I'm sure he's not either.  Even so maybe by then we will both be.
